Today Ryan Divish went on 710 ESPN Seattle and shared his thoughts on Jesse Winker, and what happened to him down the stretch. Winker was left off the postseason roster because of a neck injury, but it is likely the decision was already made.

Before I get into this I want to say that I have not had bad experiences with Winker personally, but the stories Divish tells here were relatively easy to identify.

Winker had a brutal season, to put it bluntly. He had lost all power in his bat, and his defense had regressed even further. There were some bright spots as the season went along, but it was clear he had lost all bat speed and athleticism.

Early in the season, it seemed that Winker had become a clubhouse favorite. He was a leader of the victory dance early in the season and coined the phrase “Electric Factory” to describe T-Mobile Park.
