Brandon Nimmo's fit with the Seattle Mariners

Earlier today it was reported the Mariners have formal interest in Nimmo joining the team. He has a perfect skillset for the 2023 Mariners, but can Seattle get a deal done?

Earlier today it was reported that the Mariners have shown interest in Brandon Nimmo, which shouldn’t really come as a shock. Although it is still early in the process the Mariners have a huge need in the corner outfield spot, and Nimmo is easily the best available player for Seattle.

Sources: #Mariners have expressed formal interest in free agent outfielder Brandon Nimmo, a Wyoming native. Mariners are looking for a left-handed bat and improved on-base percentage. Nimmo would bring both. @MLBNetwork @SeattleSports

I had Nimmo ranked as my number 2 target for the Mariners this offseason, and the reasons are endless. Nimmo played a lot of centerfield last season for the Mets at an average level but could be an above average defender in the corners. This is important in Seattle because of their lack of players who can play centerfield in relief of Julio Rodríguez. The team lacked options there, and Nimmo’s versatility is key.
